Engine Codes

Hey,

I think my engine is misfiring, and the engine light is on. Anyone know how to get the diagnostic codes? On my accord there was a harness underneath the glove compartment that you shorted out with a paperclip, and the engine light would blink X number of times... the CL seems to have some crazy harness behind the ashtray that I don't know how to use.

Thanks!

The jumper port is under the glove box by the ecu. Its a female two prong that you jumper out.

I have a service manual if you know what code it spits out.

Well, I wasn't able to get the engine code off of it. I went to start it this morning and it was shaking ever more violently and it wouldn't let me shift out of park. I called the dealer (in Akron - I'm in Cleveland) and they sent up a tow truck.

I'm really upset... I bought the car in March from the dealership, and I've been back to the service department on nine different occasions... Most of the time it's a repeat visit because they didn't fix something right the first time. Last time I was in was for the 60k maintenance (bought it with 45k in march) - I wonder wtf they did to it.... I haven't had to pay for anything since it's all under warranty, but it is a big hassle.

Okay, got my car back... The reason it was shaking so violently when I turned it on is apparently because some of my fuel injectors were filled with crap... they replaced all 6 of my fuel injectors. They said they didn't know what happened but suspected "bad gas". They didn't drain my tank, so it must not have been my current tank is bad, but a gradual thing. I don't buy this story..... I've never heard of anyone having to replace all their fuel injectors at 60k miles.
