EGR valve cleaning

so i just bought my EGR valve and they told me tha before installing it i need to clean the carbon outta the engine, i dont want to give my mechanic 50 to installl this since its a goddamn easy job. what do i need to clean it with??

egr valve port cleanin

hey hey you are in luck. i just did a complete egr valve port cleaning. what you will need to do is remove your fuel rail. right underneath it there is a cap that spreads over the intake manifold. remove the 5 10mm bolts, pull up cap, get some car cleaner or some intake cleaner and start spraying. you will notice a little hole in each of the legs of the manifold; make sure you clean them well. after that is complete get you a can of seafoam and run it through the PVC valve and watch your car smoke and clean all the carbon out

damn you woulndt happen to ahve pics of this??? and realistically is it worth 40-50 bucks to have my mechanic do it just ot be 100% sure???
