ECU and H22

ECU and H22
Im in a big dilema
Maybe im just being paranoyed. As you all know most h22 swaps are with OBD1 JDM motors. Thats what i did on my 97 2.2. Should i fight to stay OBD2 on the ecu and try to have the immobiliser removed somehow on the 97 P5M or chill with this research nonsence and go OBD1. Im tired @ lookin at my monitor for days and days.
Also before i get jipped AGAIN by some mechanic whats a reasonable amount of money i should give to the guy converiting the car to manual. Keep in mind it will be done with a H22 tranny.
Thanks

Most mechanics if they are legit would like to see it first. I know a mechanic who has done it on a 97 Accord and said it was a pain in the ass because he quoted for one price but when it came down to doing all the work it ends up being a lot more. I think you'll spend between $1500-$2500 for that tranny swap as far as the OBD1 and OBD2 if you have a cool mechanic he may not even charge you for that since he is doing such an intense tranny swap. as long as you dont have to pass emissions, just get an obd2-obd1 adapter. its definately the way to go. i would recommend the p28 because it doesnt look for some of the sensors that like to give problems durring swaps. (egr, KS). is your car a 5spd or an auto.?

im auto right now and right now im considering doing the manual swap and the ecu conversion all in 1 i have someone by reference that wants $600 just for labor - i buy parts tranny flywheet clutch axels pedal i know someone else who wants $850 but he is one of them people who talks and doesnt want to listen im thinking of using a p28 or p72 together with a hondata s200 unit. If you guys have more info on this headache please dont be shy. Ill let u know how things come out.

Its not hard to swap to a manual. All you need is:
A hotel preferably motel ( cost effecient )
or a secluded area
30-45 minutes of stretching
A chick who is willing
Lots of beer
Plenty of lubricant
and Vuala!
Enjoy!
