I just bought a '99 3.0 CL, white, and it came with the "gold package", meaning golden acura emblem, "3.0 CL" emblem, etc.

personally i think they're kinda ugly and wanna replace them with regular ol' silver emblems.

is this cheap, and can i do it myself or do i have to take it somewhere?

also, there's some pinstriping down the sides of the body, which i want gone. can i just strip this off myself, or should i take it someplace to have it done?

probably under $100....
you can do it yourself... you have to pry the letters and rear emblem off, they are double stick taped on... the emblem has 2 clips... The front emblem has 2 screws.. easy!!!

remove the glue with adhesive remover...

The new ones come with new tape and you just need to stick it where you want it.. hardest part is lining it straight!!!


the pinstripes if they are vinyl peel right off.. if its paint you are screwed!!!

 

i donno much about these questions, but mostly i'd think the responce you'll get from the board is to strip off the emblems and "de-bage" the whole car...it makes it look alot cleaner...if thats not your cup of tea, then i cant help ya...sorry..im sure someone can though!

btw, in case you can't tell, im very inexperienced about doing anything to a car's asthetics...
