I just want to thank all the people for their concerns. I am a new member to this site.. live on oahu... The brunt of the quake was on the kona cost of the Big Island.. oahu only felt a little of the earth quake but the power went out all over the entire island... my power just got turned back on its 5:20 pm. I just want to close by thanking the members of this forum.

on oahu.. one house had their chimminy come crashing down. I dont even know if i spelled that correctly. Any way who the hell needs a chimminy in HAWAII. Their were no deaths, some property damage, mostly on the Big Island. Its not like CALI..Big Island is real country.. the only large structures are the resorts.
I got family down there, the damage is bad but no bad reports of deaths and injuries, just alot of damage to lower area houses. Alot of land slides, but its still early to tell, there could be changes later in the week. I hope everyone doing good.
Sunday was pure bullshit.

I don't think Honolulu (Oahu) barely took any damage. As for Kona (Hawaii), the quake originated from there and I heard it was a 6.5 on the scale. So I'm assuming it must've been bad there. That's the first time hearing of an earthquake happening in Hawaii that was as violent as that. I only recall 2 quakes. A small one earlier during the year and this one. The shitty thing is that the quake disrupted the electricity and I've heard that all the islands were affected by it. Meaning no electricity across the state (islands). Read my blog for further details.
In general, it wasn't too bad for us. I thought a tsunami was gunna hit. Fucked up thing is that the restaurant (Shorebird) is inside a hotel with beach front. Good thing nothing extremely bad happened.
