wassup man I just wanted to ask you does the A-C-U-R-A emblem come with a special glue or do you need to purchase it seperate. Also is your "A" emblem the stock one or did you purchase that one too. Thanks!

The letters come with (or if they are used you just get some)3M doubled sided tape. If you do get them make sure you get the template to line them up right, it will make it a lot easier. Also, i know you asked D4 but he changed his A out I believe

I bought the 2001 emblem kit new from eBay. It came with the A-C-U-R-A, the "A", and the foam template to align the individual letters (in A-C-U-R-A).

The "A" is larger than the stock "A".

The A_C_U_R_A looks good but I can't decide which looks better. No emblems looks pretty good! Are these emblems and letters held on with tape or edhesive? Can they be removed with out causing a paint blemish?

I like mine and I got the idea from D4, his looked so nice and I had to follow suit.

I say get some good double sided adhesive tape, the kind I got is kinda thick, so the thinner the better. It still looks good, and I do suggest you get the foam template to accurately place the letters on the rear. I have the stock "A" and I think the TL'S "A" is much better looking once you compare mine with D4's rear.

dajuice- did you get you gold grill from ac.auto.parts.com and how much - I need the gold outer ring for the grill, but I think it's like $84!! outrageous. also out of curiosity how much are a-c-u-r-a gold letters - these are the only two gold accessories I don't have. I even got the wheel rim center gold a's off of ebay.

Thanks alot for your help guys. I just finished ordering the "A" emblem, is it very easy to exchange that with your stock "A"?

I havent done it but it cant be too hard. Just unscrew the two screws behind the A and remove the adhesive behind the A. The hard part is going to be cutting the tape to fit behind the new A unless it is new with the tape Good luck and let me know how it goes, i have the big A, might as well change 'em out

hey dust and dajuice i like the acura letter but i ordered the letters from the new cl type s the acura that they have on back. i was at the dealership the other day and i saw a set and the guy is supposed to order me a set but that was 2 weeks ago and he still hasnt called me yet for them.

Can someone please tell me how the emblems accomodate the crease in the middle of the panel. By this i mean the U in acura and the middle of the acura symbol are centered on the crease that runs down the middle. How do these fit on prperly. Please reply.

You'll find that there are at least 2 pieces of double-sided sticky tape on the back of the "U". I found it easier to press the "U" to either the left side or the right side of the crease. Unless you get right up on the trunk, you can't tell that it's not flat again the trunk lid.

If you're "real good", you might be abl to "balance" the "U" on the crease, and get both sides of the "U" to stick.

I ripped off all of my chrome and put gold emblems on. I bought 3M car emblem "glue." Using this, it kinda formed a layer under the emblem on the trunk so it bonded well. Took the crease right out of play with a good dosage of 3M emblem glue - you can't even noticed what I used though

how much are the emblems for the 01+ CL's? I think i'm going to be doing this mod too, does the 3m emblem glue come off if i needed it to come off again? also does the "A" from the newer CL's fit into the holes of "our" first gen cl's?

i tired to get the tl emblem but the prongs were too far apart and i dont know how you guys get them to work. i want the bigger emblem but i measured it at the dealership and it wouldnt work. please let me know if you know anything.

Heat the emblems with a hairdryer. Then run fishing line between the emblem and the sheetmetal. You can remove any remaining glue with Goo Gone (sp???) or wax.

The 3M glue should come off with little difficulty.

The "A" from the 2nd Gens fits into the 1st Gen holes.


97Acura3.0CL: I have the "A" from the 2001 CL (it's bigger than the 1st Gen "A") and it fit into the existing holes.

btw is there any where cheaper to get these emblems besides off this site for 26 bucks?

You may want to send an e-mail to acuracarland and ask what the gold ones go for. I don't see them listed. I got mine off of eBay for a steal!

You may want to send a PM to "scotty v" and ask him where he got his. The emblems I received already had the sticky tape on them, so I didn't need to buy any.
