dust boot?

well, i just bought some KYB AGX from coximport. I looked at the instruction sheet w/ pictures of the suspension assembly taken apart and i was these "Dust Cover Plate" and Dust Cover".

I know the last guy who installed my suspension did not put the dust boot back on, are they really necessary?

Also, what is the kyb agx suppose to come with? any bolts? nut?
The rear shocks comes with some nuts and sticker, but the front is just the strut...nothing else.

Thanks for the help.
When i get my KYB AGX install, i'll be glad to share my thoughts about the difference between tokico blues (what i have now) and kyb agx.

Well, I think the dust boot is there to keep away any dirt that you will encounter on the road, that dirt can easily get into the assembly, so the dust boot does help.

Exactly!

You don't need the dust boot in order for the shocks to work, but they'll wear MUCH quicker! All it takes is for some debris to get on the pistons, and the up and down motion will eventually scratch the hell out of them.

You can get them relatively cheap. Check here:

Yes, you're better off, don't want to change your shocks after a year or so... they're already expensive, no need to add extra cost.

Great! I didn't even pay attention to their dustboots. Looks like they have built-in bumpstops.
