drove a V6 accord VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

my sisters BF bought a 98 accord V6 wit 101k for 5k. its red with a banging cream interior, i told him to let me test it out for a bit and i went around and didnt feel like it picked up until you got to about 70-80mph, it definetly did not feel faster than my CL under those speeds, i was very disappointed cause i was thinking about getting a V6 but i guess the auto trans just kills the power, i guess i;ll have to take out an 03 v6 six-speed.,.... in about 5-6 years when i can afford it.

shit, my girlfriends 90 legend has 140,000 and it will smoke any stock 3.0. I even beat my buddy in his 93 lude si. The thing is a damn rocket. And whats even funnier is that the car looks like ass, all rusty, broken out tailight, etc.

101K? The engine's just broken in. That shouldn't have much to do with its slow performance.

is your 2.3 an 5spd? Sometimes manual cars feel alot quicker than they actually are. Next time try watching the speedo. You'll notice it rises alot faster than the 2.3 even if it doesn't feel like it. If not than it has a few problems. And btw, the 3.0 really isn't MUCH quicker till about 70 anyway, so it could be fine.

the auto transmission definatly takes away power because the torque converter which causes that lag when you floor it. thats why manuals are the best for performance

I drove the V-6 Accord 6 SPD yesterday. IT was VERY, quick. I have actually had a couple people thell me that they would much rather drive the 6SPD Accord vs. the S2000....believe that? I never drove an S, but I tell you what, I was impressed with the ACCORD.

The Accord V6 is a great car and very quick. Remember that the one you were driving is around 5+ years old and has 101k+ miles on it so it may need a tune up and some work on it to get it back to optimal conditon.

Sadly most people don't take care of their cars or perform regular maintenance...

Were they smoking up at the time? No offense to the new accord, but I wouldn't give up my s2k for the world. Alas, right now it is sitting in my garage waiting for slicks...bigger ones

I ran into a problem with my s2k, I accidently threw on the comptech blower and now I cant hook up. Can someone help me

Hey man, I thought the same thing.....but two different sales people told me that at 2 different dealerships. Its prolly just a selling gimmick. I never drove the s2k, but the accord was nice and roomy for a coupe.
