Well after removing all that gunk from the throttle body and IAC valve, I was thinking if is safe to clean the throttle linkage. (Where the throttle cables are connected to the throttle body). It really sticky and gunked up.

Could i use the regular carb cleaner or do i need to oil it up?

well you clean it from the inside (removing the TB) with carb cleaner.

but i'm wondering if is safe to clean the outer part (TB cable linkage) attached on the front of the TB.

any suggestions
