Does anyone have a good source for the shocks for a 97 2.2CL?
I looked through the FAQ and see a bunch of possible shocks listed for my wife's 1997 2.2CL Acura. I am leaning to getting the KYB GR-2 since my wife does not need adjustables really, and just wants to get back to (or near) factory ride quality:
KYB AGX (Adjustable) (94-97 Accord)
KYB GR-2 (Non- Adjustable) (94-97 Accord)
Tokico Illumina (Adjustable) (97-97 Accord)
Tokico HP (Non Adjustable) (94-97 Accord)
Koni Sport Yellow (Adjustable) (94-97 Accord)
Koni Special Red (Non Adjustable) (94-97 Accord)
Bilstein (Non Adjustable) (94-97 Accord)
But, the FAQ does not list sources (web site or store) that I can get them from at a decent price! So ... can people recommend:
1. An online site where I can buy the KYB GR-2 (or other shock if you think it is better)?
2. Places in San Jose, CA (preferably near the Evergreen area) that will not charge me an arm and a leg to do the work!
The Acura dealer want $600 for the OEM shocks (plus tax) and another $600 for the labor ... eek!!!
Thanks!

Funny, I was just browsing craigslist and came across this link...$150 for all 4 GR-2 aint bad, I'm not sure if he's willing to ship them or not, but tis worth a shot:

Hi, folks.
Thanks for the eBay recommendation. I found a seller at $169 plus $25 shipping for all four GR-2 shocks. Much better than the dealer quote for OEM: $600 plus tax.
Now, I just need a place to get them installed. Any recommendations in the San Jose, CA (ideally in Evergreen area) that can do this work? I am not mechanically inclined, so I am very hesitant to try this myself ... I don't have a spring compressor either (I am assuming that this is needed)!

I'd start looking at your local tuner shops. Most places where I was from (Corona CA) charged anywhere from $60-$80 to install springs 6 years ago. There's no reason why it should be higher since it requires the same amount of work to do either.
