DIY or Cheap Short Shifter?

http://cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.p...=short+shifter
has anyone tried a homemade short shifter like this one on their 1st gen cl? I did it on my cb7 accord and it worked great but I didn't know if it's the same kind of settup on the cl. Besides swapping the prelude shifter, is there a cheap solution to a short shifter? I know ebay has ones for the 98-02 accords that are cheap. Do these fit and does anyone have experience with them? I'm not interested in lowering the height of the actually shifter but to get a bracket to reduce the throw.

I've searched but didn't find too much. Please don't tell me to spend $200 on a short shifter.

I am aware of the prelude shifter mod but was wondering about the bracket type only as I said in my first post.

well I tried the lowes racing shifter and it didnt work. I would have had to cut off metal tabs that are designed so you dont mess anything up and I wasnt willing to do that.
