i heard the V1 and V2 are different in sound. but it all depends on the application.

like i coudlnt determine the difference between my buddies 03 Si and my car.

if i had a 2.2CL with the standard and mine revving as well, maybe there would be a difference.

just get the standard one. you'll save a few bills for basically the same power.

a aem bypass valve should work. just do your best to avoid huge puddles, other than huge puddles you shouldnt have any hydrolocking issues.

i wouldnt worry about hydrolock, just get a bypass valve. even without it your whole intake filter would have to be submerged for you to start hydrolocking, which means ud have to be an idiot to be driving ur car in water that high.

<---- has aem cai (no bypass cuz you lose what little power you gain)and been through puddles that were like small ponds. i swore i was gonna lock it up. as long as you don't go WOT through flood waters i wouldn't worry.

if you want to use the bypass, don't get the V2... its dual-tube design doesn't allow the use of a BPV... it will mess up the airflow/frequency...

I doubt under normal throttle the suction from the engine is enough to pick up alot of water through a filter and into the engine.

My bypass valve saved me when I was in 3-4 foot water while I was in a tropical storm. And bypass valves don't cut out much power, don't listen to subbuzz he doesn't know jack about cars

.just about whatever weather you see i see. your bandit is parked and a fairy,it's not raw like mine.rain/sleet/snow/hurricane if she's not in the shop completely shut down she's battling the toughest conditions.work, bowling, getting by supra, grabbing a burger,i kill her.(officially passed 20k with her).
my shocks are officially shot (more slammage ).my baby has been whole lip, basically submerged, while inner fender well ripped to shreads due to my halfass install (not gonna lie,was shitting bricks but only way to get to work).as long as you dont go wot or through insane water that breaks your interior cabin your good. no faith, how do you know the bandit couldn't get through your "tropical storm"?i hate bypass valves, they take from the HUGE 2hp you get from cai.

Wow, none of that was a cohesive thought, but anyhow, the bandit is going a totally different route from your lightning, that's why she's gutted, with her front end gone under construction. And she can get out of the driveway, I just had to undo the slammage a bit. But trust me dude, bypass valves do work when you're in really deep water like i was. But the bypass valve doesn't rob HP, maybe like 1/10 of a horse, but who cares, i'd rather save my engine, and when you drive through a road flooded 4 feet deep up to your grill, and your cai is totally underwater and you don't hyrdolock, lemme know

I've done a test at WOT and the bypass doesn't suck air in unless the pressure/suction from my K&N filter is obstructed, like it's supposed to do

When u buyin my omni's anyway percy?

side note-4 feet isn't your grill, the overall height for the car is 4 feet 6 inches stock anyways. Up to your grill is maybe 2 1/2 feet at most

You're right, at stock height it was probably 3 feet, it was up to the hood, put it that way, I dunno I didn't measure cuz I didn't want to open my door, cuz i was driving through a river that used to be a road.
