Dash Mod.

So I was in the passenger seat of my car today looking at my stock head unit when i realized I didn't know what the little square thing was under my head unit.

So that I don't have to replace the piece, I thought id put it to use. I already have an ipod adapter hard wired in and was wondering if there was a way to hardwire a usb port in so i could charge my phone.

If anyone has any other ideas on how i could put that hole to use I will gladly take them.

hmm they make an adapater (i have one) it has a cigarrette lighter plug on one end, and the usb on the other, i use it for my phone, belkin makes it. you could just cut the end off, wire it to your ignition and a ground or something and rig it up whereever you want.

if you're somehow trying to charge it off your headunit - no dice my friend.

or get an iphone, u can charge it the way you charge your ipod

and the little square thing is a cubby, it just fills the space up. you can put shit in it, cds, frenchfries, whatever.

Good call oon the iphone swollen member.

I say you replace oyur deck wih a kenwood deck, they make a $50 piece that connects to the deck that both charges and plays your ipod, i have it... but it only works for the generation before ipod touch ipods... i mean it plays ipod touch, it just doesnt cahrge the ipod touch.

Anyways, for a cell phone you shouljd be able to just buy an adapter for your cellphoen with a generic brand name at like radioshack or some bullshit dude
