dash lights

hey guys

what is the part number or type for the bulbs in the gauge cluster?(99cl)

I saw some (white)194's on autodynamic but am not sure if those are the ones that would fit in the gauge cluster.

I would like to change that green interior color, in the dash atleast, to white or maybe blue.

the lights on the websites looks pretty bright I wonder if just 2 would be enough.....

thanks for the input!

there are 4 168 bulbs behind the gauges, but 194 can be used also. Theres also a smaller version of a 194 bulb, but i forgot the number. Its not really as easy as just changing the rear bulbs, if you put blue bulbs in there, it will show up a light shade of blue due to the tinting of the gauge faces. So, a white bulb wont do anything, but possibly make it brighter.

hey SomeKidwithaCL,

i just came from Pep Boys and they had the 194 bulbs in amber, and they had the 1157 in amber also.....cool

but I have another question, the socket for the 1157 is bigger that the socket for the 194 ....do I have to modify the clear lens to accomodate the 1157 socket or can I use 916 bulbs which were bigger that the 194's but had the same size stem. whew! I think i just lost myself....

thanks for your help

hmm, i think you lost me too.

It sounds like you took what I said wrong, or I didnt explain myself well enough. I replaced the turn signal bulb with an 1157 bulb, so the whole lens lights up for a parking light, and the 1157 is also a turn signal... the 194 corner bulb i left alone.

If you looked at the autodynamic page, the LED bulbs are 194/168. Those will fit on the gauge cluster. If you only change two of the bulbs, you'll have a fading effect. Cause the blue will show and it will get lighter (or green if, you leave the stock bulbs in). But if you want white, i believe it won't come out pure white, but with a little tint of green maybe.

if you use bright LED bulbs it might work cuz I used regular blue and they didn't show that good but when I got the blue LEDs, man you can c them really good, so, I think (but not sure) that if you get the white LED bulbs it will work fine and you won't c the green tint.
