Now that the $$ that I was going to use for lowering my car is gone... is it really worth it to go this cheaper way and get a universal type muffler and get a shop to custom fit the pipe, either from axle back or from cat back?
I hear it gives the same results. Is it worth it?

hey. got a couple questions about that short shifter.
1. Who makes it?
2. How much was it?
3. How hard was it to install?

well its not too expensive...I paid 100 for my R*sr exhaust...then I paid about 80 for the custom piping and another 100 for the magnaflow resonator cuz it was too loud...it wasnt bad...but love the sound it makes...totally different from most exhausts
B&M short shift adapter.
$57.00 at carparts.com
I haven't installed it yet (I jumped the gun on the profile section)because carparts keeps telling me later ship dates!! They are very slow. I'll see in about two weeks when I get it! I would have paid more if I knew how long it would take. The DC Sports adapter is about $80

Did you get cat-back piping? If I got the axel back piping would I need the resonator? I don't want it too loud. What type of tips did you use? double?
Would they be able to put the muffler in with a reducer pipe so that I can just wait a while to get the piping and use my stock pipe for now?

very punny....
i say get a full cat from a place, they sound better, and the piping i think is better. my tanabe was kik ass...not too loud, clean sound...n performance gain was there..
my current exhaust..a apexi n1 is hella loud n good, but i think the pipings not good, like im losing power from it..
if youre just doin it for looks or a lil growl or sumtin...get a cheap one
if youre serious bout performance n good quality sound, get a full cat.
my two cents

well at first i just got the muffler and the piping...its cat back piping...one place i know does a real good job with custom piping...mine is a single tip...it looks like those motorcycle exhausts (cylindrical)...its pretty loud but its a really nice deep tone...not all rice rockety...i did have to get a resonator since my parents complained about the noise when i pull in late at night...but i didnt feel any power loss if any when putting it on...if you get a good muffler...you will hear it....some exhausts have a silencer in the tip of the exhaust whheere u can put it on and take it off with a simple screw...a reducer pipe or which i think ur referring to a resonator ...it goes in the piping...you could use stock pipe but in my opinion u might as well do it all at the same time you know...? i think that if the muffler place does a good job its just as good as a full cat from a place...it depends on what muffler you have...for this brands do matter at least for my experience with exhausts...R*sr is sweet...try getting one...deep as hell and distinguishes sound compared to any other muffler

i got the n1 universal muffler and did 2.5" mandrel bent piping all the way from the cat back. I'm gonna have my cat removed soon. It's real loud right now though. I put the apexi resonator in it...and it's still pretty loud. It was alot cheaper then doing the greddy system or something like that..the piping ran me 120.the muffler 140
You Fawkin Kiddin Me!
Just a question asked out of my own preference to answer ylur question on which is worth it...
If an exhaust only gives you little amounts of horsepower, say 5 for an axle back and maybe 10-15 from cat, an a loud noise on a luxury sport car, is an exhaust at all worth it???
I haoppen to say no... but like i said to each there own, thats just mine!

I would like to know the cheapest way to get the same sound as a Greddy. All the Greddy exhaust I've heard I love, they have the best like deep growl sound to them. Not like some weed wacker shit. I'll prolly end up shelling out $$$ for a Greddy.
fastest time 13.4@107 !!!
i have muffler and custom piping and it work just as good as a full exaust if not better
