Custom Lip Continued...

Hey all,

It's been awhile since I posted pics, actually, I think I left y'all hanging since the last time I worked on my car. The reason for that was I damaged the hood right after I painted that sucker.

Below are pics of the middle piece I said I was going to construct. All I need now is to fine sand it and paint it. As always let me know your comments. They aren't the best pics and it definitely doesn't do the car justice, but consider it a sneak peak.

Also, are the pics of my Accord headlight conversion with custom Audi HID Projectors installed.

And with no further delays....

BTW, this was the pic of my car before my little mishap and without the constructed middle lip. I think you all can recall this car.

Peace,
James

As always, your work is kickass. The only thing I would say that I saw was a little off was the inside corner of the headlights near the grille. The edge doesn't match up to that edge of the bumper (at least in the pic).

Regardless, after the wreck your car was in, that's one kickass body job

its looks.....ok. All that work and it looks like an accord tho. Why not just buy an accord? Why not retrofit the projectors into the CL headlamps Just my

Looking good man, looks similar to the wings west front lip. The headlights look ok, being that your old one's were fucked, and you got those for a deal. What's your plans for the rear lip?

One more coat of Clear and I'm done!!!! But here's an Update!

Hey all again,

Boy, those were alot of replies. Thanks for all of them.

EPS Sniper: Thanks for the comments and yeah you are right. However, it's because my bumper is sagging from high speeds, I have to remount it higher.

97Acura3.0CL: It took me about 3 days. Believe it or not it wasn't too difficult as I already had the two previous pieces. It was just a matter of molding that third piece to the other two. It was again a free mold just had a high wattage blow dryer handy for quick forming of the fiberglass resin.

And yeah it's all white with blue pearl again!! I was gonna go with a different color pearl but couldn't make up my mind. In the end I just said the heck with it and went with my frost blue.

krazy99cl: Don't worry bro we share the same taste. I'm gonna black it out and put an undergrille on.

liloj: Thanks bro, this is to all my Hawaiian peeps out there!!! Boy, how I friggin miss that place. BTW which island you on? I grew up there on Oahu in Mililani, then we moved out to Kahalu'u where we started an agricultural business, but as time moved on we set out here in Miami. Guess it was better for business. I moved to FL in '96, let me know if lots have changed!! Thanks.

white 3.0: Yep, I had clears on once but it didn't look too good. VXCL was my inspiration on that part.

99CL: Well, it was a cheaper alternative than the CL headlights so I went ahead and did it. It's a little different, but I still love the CL headlights. The accord headlights were $100 for the pair brand new, couldn't pass that up.

Klepto:
Hey bro, your ride's not that bad either. Lovin' the rims. Tight work!!

Roddymerritt: It's a little too late for that! The fiberglass had already set, sanding away at it would just have made a big ass hole.

StockCL?: Got them off ebay for like $90 with shipping. I can't imagine paying more for them like others. I guess I bought it awhile back before the demand for them rose.

ding069: Again bro, I was thinking economical at the time. Don't get me wrong I love the CL headlights but at $400 I would just stick with my $100 as the work was done by myself so that seems logical enough.

rodxx: Yeah bro, I'm back down in Miami now. My cuz got laid off so picking up the bill for the apartment wasn't working. BTW, you wasn't affected by the hurricane did you? Yeah bro, I'm up to chill anytime, let me know. Maybe get a little mini-meet together. Damn bro, you want projectors that bad....let me know I'll hook you up.

bakat: Thanks bro, yeah it does doesn't it. Well, tried to keep that classy look you know don't wanna rice it all out!!! Hey no prob on the headlights, I agree with y'all but whatever, no going back. And for the rear lip...none. Well, maybe. Gonna go nos or even turbo in the near future so rear drag is something I don't need. Downforce in the front is something I could use though.

And here are the updated pics. Again they are night pics so it doesn't really do the ride justice. The hood I couldn't get perfect, as you can see the ears are still a bit warped. And I still have one or two more layers of clear coat to put on when I have time so then I can wet sand and buff it for that smooth/slick, look and feel.

And on the next post I'll put up pics of the final product.

Laters,
James

Personally, I do not like the Accord head lights because the car now looks like an Accord. I like the CL's head light because it flows with the car and that is what makes the CL look good. Although, you get two thumbs up for the creativity. Good luck with your car

It looks like an Accord. I am not denying that you did a good job, It's just that CL headlights look good on our cars Accord headlights are too squared.

I love the way the lip looks but I just think that you should of worked on your stock CL headlights. Props for your work!
