okay i have a plan...

i'm surrently taking a ceramics class at my high school (grrr ghetto fine arts requirement)...and i was thinking of making a ceramic intake. why?

1. cheap...hehehe
2. it can withstand lots of heat
3. bored in class

the thing is...will i need to make a bypss valve for it (btw i live in northern cali, near san jo) ? and how long should it be (too lazy to go out and measure) ... thnx

ps..tell me if this is a good idea or if im being stupid...hehe thnx

 

oh and how thick should it be?? is 1/2 - 3/4" too thick?

 

and wat should i use to absorb the virbrations?

ummm ceramic gets hot!!! and you probably will get max airflow!!! and how are you planning on attaching it... DO NOT DO IT!!!!

 

Just buy a generic CAI on ebay for less than $50.

 

Ceramic will shatter when you hit a bump and all those nice hard chips of stone will be sucked into your engine....

be pretty fawked up getting ceramic particals in your intake manifold!!!!

 

I agree.......1st pothole, it's gonna break or come off.
