the brake dust doesn't come from the rotors, it's from the pads you use. I have the Axxis Metal Master and they SUCK when it comes to dust. They have great braking power but the pads leave a lot of dust.

Do you want to stop quickly or just look shiny till you hit the tree?
Better brakes dust. It's a fact of life.
Just get used to cleaning the wheels more often and enjoy the better stopping performance.
Or just wear the dust as a "badge of courage" that "yes, I will dive deeper and brake harder into that corner!".
Rotors don't make a difference in regards to the dust. Pads do.
Slotted looks good, will be stronger over the long run and will give better initial bite in the wet, fine in dry too.
Cross drilled will be fine for wet and dry, look great but need a bit of extra care and monitoring to be sure you arent developing heat cracks and that after a nice hard run you don't just park and let them unevenly cool. Warpage on drilled rotors is sure to lead to bigger issues.
Under extreme use you'll want to really pay attention to slotted and drilled rotors, just as a matter of practice.
I had powerstops all around with axxis and the stopping was great.
Oh yeah, BLEED your system and use a synthetic, you'll like it.

Brake dust is usually a sign of pads doing their job well!
You just have to live with it. If it bothers you, then try cleaning your rims throughly and then applying a standard car wax on it ... makes it trivial to remove the dust with a simple hose and water cleaning later!
One other observation: brakes and rotors and pads are not what is important to stop a car well! The following should be required reading: http://scirocco.dyndns.org/faq/brake...n/pfpage1.html for everybody here!

Good reading.
Grassroots Motorsports is my favorite magazine because of the great info they provide.
SS lines and new fluid are a great addition to everyone's braking system. Ifyou care about upgrading your brakes and can't afford new big brakes etc, invest in this.
On my Mazda I have Hawk HPS pads and SS lines with ATE Super Blue racing fluid. I may upgrade to slotted rotors just for kicks in the future. Right now pedal feel is greatly improved, stopping distance is reduced and I couldn't be happier.
Everyone should look intobetter fluid at least and better pads, then SS lines and rotors for a street system.

More dust does not mean they are better pads or that they grab any better. Just depends on the type of materials and the compatability of the rotor/pad. More dust means something is being worn off. You could switch to a harder pad, but they it'll wear the disc more - coin toss.
Metallic pads are going to make all kinds of dust, nothing you can do about it. Synthetic pads on the other hand make very little and can have just as much if not more bite than other pads.
