Create your First Gen Acura CL Type R

If you could create your own version of how a first gen Acura CL type R how would you build it. Here are some variables to consider: Exterior Paint-job, Interior Color, Interior bits and pieces (Seats, steering, shift knob) Engine, Transmission, Brake Set-up, Suspension, etc. (i.e. removing the moonroof).

I would agree with this except on the Supercharged part. a Factory Type R would have to a highly tuned version, not a boosted one. Keep the 3.0 v6 but it would be tuned with a red valve cover. i think thats a little mo realistic. Also it would have Leather seats, bucket style, with the Inverted leather. (like the IS 300). No wood trim, graphite one, like the newer cl-s.

Here's my version:

Paint-job either Championship white, electron blue, or that yellow (you know which one)
A better looking version of the WW type R rear wing
Red Cloth interior
Get rid of the sunroof
Get rid of the power seats for some manual sport seats
a hi-compression H24 (2.4 liter version of the H22) pumping out 240 HP
6-speed manual tranny
Carbon-fiber trim
3 spoke momo steering wheel and shift knob
Studded pedals
17 inch forged light-weight wheels
Bigger Brakes all around
An inch or so lower ride height and stiffer suspension all-around
Red Acura Logo
Type R sticker

No car, I just made it up to give you some kind of idea of what I was thinking. Basically an H22 with more displacement to provide the torque needed to move the heavier CL (as opposed to a prelude)

Why a Type-R, why not a Type-S like the rest of the Acuras? But since you said Type-R, Ill throw in some things as well...

You guys are forgeting projectors. At least projectors, but HID would be even better. Needs a lip kit all around. Needs like an 800lbs weight reduction. Thinner windows, no sound deadening, aluminum suspension components, 8k redline, 11:1 compression...

I would do it in the tradition of the other type-Rs.

Appearance
Make it white and have a red interior with Recaro seats. Have a small lip spoiler and small rear spoiler. Have 17" inch wheels.

Suspension
Revised suspension that is 1/2 inch lower. Bigger swaybars, shocks, brakes, etc.

Power
Port and polished heads, modified intake and exhaust, revised timing, and a 6-speed. That should add about 50HP.

Most importantly, make the car 90lbs lighter.

sorry, you mean integra. if it's an RSX it's a type-S, with a steering wheel conversion.

I second the VX style (esp. projos), with int. like the real type-Rs, lower stance, bigger brakes and wheels. accord type_r motor( i think that's the euro h22)a little taller spoiler than stock, dual tips like the TSX, and keep all my power stuff(roof, windows etc. except seats) only comes in black, red, and blue ahh dreams....

H22 from the Prelude Type S (JDM) I believe it made 220 hp or so.

ATTS for superior cornering

Stage 2 weight reduction

Track suspension

6 speed manual

but if the badges read, integra Type-R.. then its the real deal..

i was referring to this statement:

the rsx type-s is not the equivilent to the integra type r...the type s is not a type r with the steering wheel on the left side...hell the type-s doesn't even resemble anything from honda's type r line lol
