Cracked/peeling leather - replace or fix?

I bought my '99 2.3 CL about six months ago and the interior looked perfect. Now, as of about a month ago, I started noticing the leather peeling and cracking on the driver's seat (mostly on the left side). I searched and found a lot of threads about this happening to leather Acura seats, so I suppose it's pretty common. My question is, should I:

a) Just have the cracked sections replaced by an Acura dealer?
After looking at prices for OEM parts, I nearly fainted. Is this the best way to go?

b) Use an aftermarket "repair" product?
One of the threads pointed me to http://www.leatherique.com . It looks a little hokey. Does this stuff actually work?

I started this thread because the only answer I ever found after searching was "have the dealer replace it if its under warranty". What I'm looking for are people who had the same problem not under warranty) and fixed it one way or another. I just need to get some pros and cons to see which way I want to go with it. Thanks a ton for any help!

you have a few choices. I
1. rewrap with all new leather. (katzskin or whatever.)
2. replace your seats with oem ones.
3. get just that one seat rewraped (you take the chance of them colors not perfectly matching)
4. trying to patch it (not to sure about the look of that. Once they start drying out and peeling i would think that its pretty hard to mend them)
5. You could probably pic up some leather bucket seats off ebay for about 300 shipped for 2 of them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2X-JA...03540987QQrdZ1

RedX - I was wondering if someone made some seat covers that looked good. I haven't found any yet. I take it you haven't either?

Swervin - I checked on ebay and actually found a pair of '99 2.3 CL beige leather seats. But, judging from the pictures, they were in worse condition than mine. I'll keep looking though.

I'm leaning towards getting some of that "Leatherique" stuff to try. I figure that if it doesn't work or looks like crap, I can just get new seats or have the damaged sections replaced anyway. If it does work I'll have saved myself several hundred $$'s. I'll let you guys know when I try it and show you the results...

another thing to try is go to a shoe repair shop, and ask if they can look at fixing your leather seat. I know there are people here that have gotten their seat fixed for cheap.

fyi- that lower part of the seat, probably the part that is peeling, is vinyl, not leather.
