couple of ?

Hey wats up everybody. Im new here. I just traded cars with my bro. I had a 96 Honda Prelude SI with an h22a4 swap. It was a powerful car but i liked his CL better. I have a couple of questions. 1. Where can I get blackhoused headlights? 2. Can I put an HID kit on my car? (I've heard that you can't because it will melt the plasic lights.) Thanks in advance to everybody that's going to help me. Here's a couple of pics of my new CL.

ah.. that CL needs a little work.

its a 97, i probably would have kept the prelude if I were you...

the prelude is probably gonna hold its value better than a 97 CL w/ lambo doors.

To be honest though... get a WW Lip, Tein S-Tech Springs, Amber Corners and the 97 CL Grille.

Next on the list would be tints, some different rims and then performance or stereo whichever

u want.

i went from CL to Prelude. dont regret it.
blackhousing are a DYI
for hids, better do a retro fit....otherwise looks stupid and blinds other drivers

not bad, pretty good start. as stated blackhousing is a diy and no your housing won't melt with hid's. hid's produce less heat than halogens. welcome and good luck with her.........

edit: I like the lambo's on the cl.

you can be the first person here to buy the black housed headlamps off ebay though. we all would like a guinea pig. hid are fine in the headlamps, they wont melt the plastic because hid's burn cooler than halogen bulbs.

car looks pretty good, i don't like those doors either but they aren't too bad. the wheels are nice.

I'd get the blacked out housing's off ebay, they are tight. and get some blacked out bumper lights, maybe a WW lip and tints

what kind of spoiler is that btw?

OMG! I have this thing about red and black cars.
K, this is what you do...
1.) Dark black window tint, I'd suggest about %20
2.) Drop that mother.
3.) WW lip, and keep it black.
4.) blackout head/smoked lights, saw some on ebay the other day.

Beautiful CL as-is tho!
BTW, I think those lambo doors are fawking hot!

EDIT: 5.) There was a guy in here somewhere in the forums that had this sweet red and black grill. If I find the thread, ill post.

Welcome to the forums. I personally like the rims But i'd say drop it a little lower, put a WW Lip or custom fabricate one off a Accord, tint the windows, blackhouse the headlights and get the tailight tint kit for the rear tailights. But other then that you're off to a good start.

welcome. not really feeling the lambo doors, and it needs a WW lip or at least paint the stock front lip as well.

What is a WW lip?

What do you guys use to lower a CL and how much? What does it do for you besides scrape your front end and look mean? Handle a bit better I suppose.

I lowered mine for the look, which probably wasn't smart, but it improves your cornering and such. You don't gotta go for a scrape-the-ground look. My CL is dropped on Eibach SportLines (1.8"/1.7") It lowered it just enough to give it an agressive look and improve my handling, but I hardly have trouble with scraping. You'll also have to get a camber kit though if you lower it more than an inch. I don't regret lowering my car one bit however.

A Wing West Lip Kit is another great mod to do to your car. Google it or search on the threads to find out more. The lip doesn't stick too far lower than stock, just about half an inch.

Hey, good start. I'm not really sure if anyone answered your questions yet haha...blacked out headlights have to be custom done. There's a write up on em in the diy pages. As far as the HID kit, yes, it can be done. As long as you're happy with the trade, that's good enough. Welcome to the forum

Skunk2 drops lower than 1.5" and you would need a camber kit, for a modest drop, get tein h-techs, neuspeeds, or eibach
