Does the 98 V2 even fit down into the fender of the 2.2?

even if i did....the 98 is made for 2.3(obvious)

it would bigger than the one that is made for the 2.2 (even more obvious)

sooooo....if the v2 is dynoed for the 2.2 the 2.3 wouldnt be as efficient...being off by the .1 liter...

similar to exhaust piping being too big...just thinking...what about yall...

i think its a waste of money to get the 97 v2 cuz its almost the same size tubing and in my opinion a better filter and i have a little over a hundred into mine.. nippon dont you have a 2.3 v2 i was almost positive that the 98-9 went into the duct.. can some people post some pictures of a 97 and a 98 v2 actually in a cl...

I would think that a V2 going into the fender would produce more power, but it seems weird that AEM would make the 97 V2 without taking this into consideration. Part of the science behind the V2 is that it is not as long as the CAI which they say improves the performance. It seems to me that it has become a choice between the two V2's for our car, one being CAI style and the other being short ram style. Has anyone with a 2.2 even tried using the 98 V2, or is it just speculation that it will fit and change the perfomance and sound?

If you are trying to decide between the cold air and the short ram, you should look at what region you are in. If you are in a region that has a wetter climate and have a chance of injesting water/snow, then I would suggest the short ram (MI, CAN).... I think the extra 2 hp isnt worth hydrolocking a $2,000 engine- but the decision is up to you.

If you want the V2 get the appropiate one for your engine. I say that because AEM claims to have tested them for specefic applications and found the setup that work best with your engine thats why some are longer and some are shorter. If you want CAI then get that and not the V2. These are two different intakes made for slightly different reasons. CAI improves mid to high end HP but you loose low end torque. The V2 does the same thing but you should loose less torque. basically the V2 should be better for daily driving. Debating between 97 V2 and a 98 V2 for a 2.2 is really making this too complicated. Get the rigt one for the car...

the f22 and f23 are basiclly the same motor with the block bored out a lil bit bigger for more torque. everything else are the same.

AEM doesn't make a V2 specialized for the first gen CL, and that is why there is some debate on which model puts out better performance. Maybe if AEM tested the V2 on the CL, then they would have made all the CL V2s go into the fender. I don't think that anyone can say one is definately better than the other without trying out the 98 accord V2 on the 2.2 CL.

i would get thw 94-97 v2 for the simple fact that it doesnt kill the low end as much. my aem cai killed it. i would much rather have better off the line pick-up. i had both aem intakes so im talking from experience. i also got about 3 more mpg with the v2 over the cai.

i highly doubt the piping is any larger of th 98 cord app. its the same freakin engine. that .1 does almost nothing for performance, especially with the newer emissions equip like ulev.
