Considering new mod.....input please
Hey guys, a new mod idea crossed my mind, and wanted to know what you guys thought of it. I want to take my wheels off for a month or so, and do some work to them. Basically, i want to sand them down, and get them painted silver. They have the silver finish on them now, but its starting to peel a little bit, and not look as 'new' as they once did. Only when you get up close can you tell though. Either way, paint em silver using car paint (after sanding, primering, etc) and then spray about 4 coats of clear on the rims. But i want to use this special clear coat that has a blue additive. Basically, it kinda has a blue tinge in it when you look at it from certain angles. Not noticeable all the time, but if standing the right way with the sun on it, you can see blue kinda 'float' across the wheels. Plus with all that clear on it, waxing it would be a lot easier with better results. What do you guys think?

I have to make up my mind soon if i am going to go black on the rims. Its either paint them black, worry about scratching and chipping, or get the 19's refinished.
If you do anything to your wheels, I'd powdercoat them. Painting them and clearcoating them wouldn't be that much cheaper and powdercoating is proven to last. I know you have the hook up
when it comes getting paint done, but if you want them to really last, powdercoat them

Durability - Powdercoating>painting
Looks - Painting>powdercoating
You have RH C2s right? I would go INSANE if I had to prep those wheels. too many angles/surfaces. All that effort, and they're still vulnerable to rock chips.
But I don't like how powdercoating looks.
