cold weather stuff
this is the first winter since i've had my car, and it's been pretty damn cold here in md...i've got a few questions about how our cars do with the cold weather:
1) do our heaters typically stink? it takes me like 10 minutes to get some heat going...my 89 accord had hotter heat!
2) if i open the sunroof cover (the sliding part on the inside roof) it feels kind of drafty...this is my first car with a sunroof, so i'm not sure if it's actually drafty, or just the effect of having a big, cold piece of glass right above my head
3) the clear plastic cover in front of the gauges on the dashboard creaks and squeaks a lot; obviously because everything has contracted a lot in the cold, but maybe there's something i can do to stop it?
thanks for the help

I just installed a remote starter! :P It's nice going out and getting into a heated car.
I would let the car warm up at least 10 minutes before taking off. Keep in mind that with the climate control, the car won't blow air until you get close to the temperature you have set. Try dropping the temp a few degrees, the air will kick on sooner.
Do you have the heated seats? They'll warm you up much quicker than waiting for the heater.
I always keep the moonroof cover pulled over the moonroof. It cuts down on the transfer of cold air through the glass.
I went through my entire interior last week and stuffed sma;; pieces of foam/cloth to stop the squeaks and rattles. So far (after one week), they're all gone.
