COINCIDENCE?: ABS light indicator

Hey guys,
I recently replaced my rear brake pads and disks at a local garage place. A few days after, I noticed that my ABS light indicator would turn ON from time to time and remain on until I turned off the car. Sometimes, it wouldn't turn on... I went back to ask him about it, he checked the code and it was code 17 and 18. Blue wire left rear wheel (shortcircuit or censor open). I found it strange that this would happen (pb with rear ABS) after I changed my rear brakes. The mechanic says that the ABS wires look good and it must be that my censor has pbs coincidently... No connection to the job he did on the brakes.... Any clues? or past experience to shed some light on this?

Much appreciated!

By the way, I forgot to mention that my rear caliper pin was stuck and he had thought to hammer it or expose it to heat in order to loosen it... He refuses to link this to what he did and he says that I might need to buy new ABS censor. DO you have any idea if this could have affected the ABS censor or wire in the back?

No clue anyone?

Does anyone have a clue if t can be caused by the work on the brakes or whether it's normal for it to fail after 5 years? (it's a 98 CL)
