coilover suggestions

i was going to purchase Apexi World Sport coilovers for the cl

a littel while back. I can't find that same set on Ebay anymore.

I am thinking of getting prokits + tokico's or KYB AGX.

I also think i should just say forget the springs and shocks and just go with

the teins. Is this the right application?

wow - its been a while since i've been on here...things have changed.

I have Teins on my 2.3CL right now...that's the right application for our car. The only real complaint I have about the Teins is that i squeak a decent bit - but that might be because of my poly bushings.

I had a set of H&R Sports + KYB AGX's...I loved that setup, it just wasn't low enough once I put the 18's on the car

i dont want some cheap stuff...

I was looking at the Apex'i as I said before.

Those were for 650, the Teins are 8-something.

I also saw some Tokico ones but am not sure if there is any applications.

but are you sure these will fit and not be bouncy, the teins i am talking about.

Isn't there a different spring rate that I need to look for, our front end is heavier,

I'm pretty sure a user on A-cl.com has noted this.

There is an application for the Tokico coilovers. LOOK HERE!

They are for the Accord, but will fit the CL. They are awesome. I had them on my del Slo and they rode like stock, but stiffen up the shocks and it handled like a go cart. Look at the difference between the Tein springs and the Tokico's. The Tein's are shorter and stiffer, but the Tokico's are more like a lowering spring and not so stiff. One thing bad about the Tokico's is the strut body is not shorter than stock, so you will lose some travel. I'm getting the Tokico's cause I don't like bumpy rides.

they are probably fake..been a problem on ebay..people advertise ground control coilovers for cheap...and then the red paint starts chipping off the springs and you see a blue spring...eibach doesn't use blue springs...but i dunno

I meant that you lose suspension travel when you lower the car. Some struts are shorter, so lowering the car has no affect on suspension travel, but the Tokico's, I believe, are the same length causing a slight decrease in suspension travel.

:dunno: I didn't notice that and it doesn't make sense. Maybe he meant excluding V6 models...

To my knowledge, Ground Controls arent cheap stuff. BUt they also arent the BEST. My current setup are Ground Control Coilovers and Koni Yellow Shocks and they ride beautifully. If you are interested PM me. If you want to spend the money, then id say get the Tein SS.

No, ground controls aren't cheap in price or quality. They use Eibach springs. I just don't like sleeve type coilovers in general. I had skunk2's and I loved them for the handeling and ease of adjustability, but I don't like having springs that aren't always compressed and are that stiff.

dude i want some high quality shit,

my acura is not going to be sitting on some chrome cheap rims.

(not all chrome rims are cheap, but most of the ones u c are cheap)

sorry if i offended any chrome-riders. I want to get something comparable

to the teins, but if i can get something that is gonna make the ride smooth

and adjustable for under a grand, I will steer away from tein.

BTW is the SS Coilover able to be paired with an EDFC?

if so i gotta jump on that, the blue tl at the target meet was killin em.

For as low as they end up going, no they aren't bouncy. And getting a different spring rate? nah, I think thats an issue with the 2nd gen CL's, if you do old searches you'll see that the people talking about bottoming out because the front end is heavier are all 2nd gen's.

my friend got skunk2's for his accord, and his car rides pretty smooth for coilovers

his car has very little bounce, even on stock shocks
