clutch time

hey everyone. it seems everything on my car is going to shit. oh well, half my car will be new parts in a month at the moment it's the clutch. slips when i'm starting in first (5 spd). also, any aggressive shifting makes it slip too. soooo since i know any retail place is going to rape me on the price for an OEM clutch, i figure i should get a performance one. thats where i need you guys. should i just get a new clutch, or a kit (with flywheel and whatever else) also, brands, models, etc would be appreciated. my second question is how can i check my alternator; i think the electrical troubles i'm having are a result of the alternator. and if i replace it, where can i get a slightly higher output one? thanks in advance, you guys are a huge help every time

No problems with my Clutchmasters stage 2 clutch on my h22a4 tranny. It's the same clutch used in the 2.2/2.3 tranny. I believe it cost me around $300.

There's a couple different clutch auction on ebay right now.

I would suggest you go with a name brand like ACT or Clutchmasters.

I'm running an ACT organic street disc and it holds pretty well. I've had it for 5 months NA and 2 months boosted and its holding up well. I also went ahead and got the ACT extreme pressure plate and Clutchmasters 8 lb flywheel while I was in there. I wouldn't really recommend the flywheel unless you're going forced induction because the rpms drop insanely quick when shifting.
