i am having some problems with my clutch. for some reason there is no longer any play before disengagement of the clutch. you know how when you rest your foot on the clutch, the peddle actually gives a little? well it no longer gives. now the clutch gives me about an area of about 1/4 inch long in where i can engage the clutch at the very top of the swing. does any of you have any idea why this is happening and how i can fix it? i drew a picture to illistrate but i don't know how to paste it into the message. i would appreciate any help you can give me.

 

how much play did it give u before? i think the clutch height is measured from the floor to when the clutch is engaged. i dont think theres any adjustment for the top of the clutch when disengaging it.

 

it gave me about an 1 1/2" - 2" of play. the clutch now engages a the very extreeme top of the swing. before it would engage in roughly the middle of the swing.

 

ooh i see. its engaging on the top of the up stroke.
eather of 3 things.
less likley- clutch master cylinder
more likley- clutch slave cylinder. u can rebuild the old one cheaper than u can buy a new one.
does the clutch slip at all? get it to normal temp, then get going like 30mph in 4th gear and floor it. if it slips AT ALL, i would replace it. i would even replace it before the slave cylinder if it slips.
