I'm just curious...How does a first gen CL compare to a 2nd gen (non type-s) CL?

Can a lightly moded 1st gen beat the CL-P?

BLAH!....ok....so how about others without the 175 direct port nitrous, VAFC, level 10 torque converter and such... :P

How did you guys fair?

I raced a buddy of mine up on Sugarloaf Pkwy GotRice...he didn't use his SS and he still beat me by about 2-3 car lengths. Maybe since I had just gotten my stick and was still learning he took me by alot...but I give up about 75hp and bundles of torque though, so hmm...guess I just suck! Give me some time though...his only mods are stickers

Yea...I'll be back on monday. Mabey we can meet up on the following weekend and see how a moded 3.0 holds up against a Premium 2nd Gen :P

 

yes a CL-P 1st gen is 200HP and a 2nd gen CL-P is 225 with not that much more torque, plus the 2nd gens are whales!!!!!!!! =D woohoo go 1st gen lol

 

well a stock CLP does 0-60 in 6.8-7.0 and 1/4 mile in 15.3-15.5 stock. I dont know about the 1st gen. but I guess the 3.0 stick would give us a good run, maybe even beat us if we dont use SS? i tried and SS is about 4 secs faster than leaving it in auto from 50mph roll start.

 

Stock for stock...I think the CLP would win. But I'm wondering if a moded first Gen will beat the CLP because the CLP will have that sport shift option.

The 3.0 did not have a manual option.

 

well whats the 0-60 and 1/4mile for 3.0 CL ? Cause i think every 35extra hp equals about .5 sec. Since the CLS is 35more hp then CLP and its only .5 sec faster. Also when i asked about a CAI which gives 10extra hp, they said u only gain .1sec. I am not too familiar with this stuff so i dunno

 

The 99' 3.0 CL does a 15.7 stock 1/4 mile.
