hey my names joe im a hardcore car enthusiast. i just recently purchased a 97 cl2.2 with 230,000 miles on it and i was just wondering about some h22/h23 swaps 4 my tired single-overhead cam 2.2liter. Is it possible to swap the h-series head onto the cl2.2 block and if so how similar is the block of the cl2.2 and h22?What is the engine called that comes into the cl2.2 and 2.3 and how difficult is the swap

the h22, depends on how much you find one for, try looking for one, i know i saw one on ebay for like 1g this last week

search for "H22" or "H22a"

you have to swap the whole engine, you might be able to swap parts but i would just buy the whole engine

f22 and teh f23 comes in the 2.2 and 2.3's

I bought the car for only $1500 its all high way miles. it still runs great and i just did maintence on it. i would like 2 keep the motor that is n there now but the mileage is so high and plus the aftermarket sucks for it

you cant frankenstein h22 and f22's like ls and gsr motors, i thing the only thing you can swap onto the f22 is the h22 tranny... other than that, if i were you id change the whole motor cuz of those miles, but damn, that was a reasonable deal, if youd bought it for 5 grand or more id say your nuts!
