Question CL/5th Gen Accord Catback Exhaust Opinions

Hello everyone,

I might have to replace my mufler soon and am thinking of a catback exhaust. In your humble opinions, which one sounds closest to either: Infiniti G35 or F1/Ferrari/Lotus-type sounds, if anyone has heard any of the cats sounding

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

do you have a 3.0? if you have a 2.2 it will never sound like a G35.

If you have V6 CL and want G35/37 type sound, the exhaust that gets closest to that is Apex-i World Sport II or Megan racing has the rights to make the copy of Apex-i's World Sport 1. Both give same sound but tips are slightly different. I can show you both systems if you like.

I am a 2.3 and I would like the sound as close to a G35/Ferrari/F1/Lotus as possible ... not a ricer deep sound like most kids have. Any suggestions, besides the 3.0s??

Thanks.

Honda 4 cylinders will never sound like that. They're either straight through style which makes them "buzzy" or "raspy", have a deep drone or are nearly silent.

In the past I've spent over $800 on a single exhaust system, but they've never sound as good as the Apexi WS2 that I have on my car right now.

Well then you need to do a 3.0 swap cuz with the baby 4 banger, 2.2 and 2.3 are so similar doesnt make a difference, adding 2 cyl's will though, it's just not gonna happen. Sorry guy

honda 4 cyls will never sound like a ferrari or lotus, you'll be lucky to sound close to a g35 since they're a tuned exhaust

The Apex-i WS2/Megan Racing (Apex-i WS1 copy) will make a mellow sound on the F22/23 similar to a stock 8th Gen Civic SI/5th Gen Prelude exhaust.

The megan Racing version would be way cheaper. In fact for the price of Apex-i exhaust, you can get the Megan racing exhaust and headers with a little change to spare. Remember with mods it should be hp/$. The more hp gain for the $.$$, the greater value. Why pay 5xx.xx for Apexi exhaust (6-9hp) when for the same cost you get Megan Ex/hdr (15-18hp) for same price... Just food for thought.

Here is megan racings exhaust (exact copy of WS1)

You can only buy muffler. You'll need to have custom piping done. To keep sound smooth keep stock premuffler with new piping or add hi flow mid muffler. I thought the mad cat back for your car this set-up (custom) will be even cheaper as the muffler is only 120.00 on ebay.

Right on the money with this comment. I've had 3 diff exhausts on 2.3's and the WS2 is the best by far.

And thats why i mentioned the Megan Racing exhaust which has the rights to make WS1. The sound the same at a cheaper price. I used WS on my prelude SH, Acura CL-S 6speed and b16b powered 95 civic. You'll love the quiet/droanless/added power of the WS1/WS2 whichever u get.
