if you have a 5 speed tranny, go to hondata.com and they can get you a good chip, the aem intake is just as good as any. the only difference is if you get a cold air intake (CAI) or if you get a short intake. i prefer the short because i've sucked up water wth the CAI's before and blown up my motor (a couple times). the CAI run down into your wheel well, you get a couple more horsepower (3 or 4 maybe) but risk blowin your engine if you're driving in water. you can change your CAI to a short setup pretty easily when it rains, but it's kind of a hassle.

PiMpIn2.2CL,

You can't actually select how wide the piping is. The 2.2CL requires the 2.5" one. The 3.0" one is for the 3.0CL. Good luck!

I think it is just luck or bad luck actually b/c it almost never rains here in sunny Arizona and I blew my Civic Si motor last year with an AEM CAI................that sucks!!! only 14K miles...... and it was in the shop for 8 weeks

actually, the width of the pipe any bigger than aem's sizes are pretty much overkill. remember, there is a throttle plate that stops the air from going in.

also, cai's are not always better than short rams. it varies for every car. the reason is the longer you run an intake, the less pressure inside the intake pipe. and the difference in pressure gains may cancel out/increase/decrease the gains from a cooler air temperature achieved by a cai.

i know a guy that ran a friggin filter off his throttle body in a first gen eclipse. ran quick too!

Is the aem intake made for the CL, or is it just the same as the accord 2.2?

I heard that shit don't work. The engine pulls so hard the damn by pass gets sucked into the engine...aka same effect, your engine is finished.

They tested it on an NSX.....dipped the whole filter in a fish tank while the car was on a dyno doing 40-50 MPH.
