Changing the trim kit?

I currently have a wood-grain trim kit but I've decided that I want the brushed aluminum kit now. What do you think is the best way to remove the wood trim kit I currently have on?

Do you think if I just decided to remove my wood trim kit and leave it stock it'll look like crap due to excess glue and stuff?

I just removed a piece of "wood" trim from the compartment that's under the stock head unit.

What a bitch it was! I separated the "wood" from the flip lid by running a razor blade the whole way around, then pulling the "wood" piece off. Now the foam backing is stuck to the front of the lid!

I'm gonna try some "Goo Gone", and see it I can get the foam/glue off.

any ideas what to do with the wood trim for a tan interior? I wish my interior was black since aluminum of CF or even black leather wrap goes with that... but tan? I dunno what to do... none of those previous ideas would go well at all... what do you think?

to answer your question, just keep the current pieces and wrap them in leather or paint them.

EDIT: d5c5b just did black leather wrap.

Goo Gone worked well (that and a lot of rubbing with my fingers to roll the foam off).

Nothing is wrong with the wood kit, it looks nice and everyone who I asked after I had it done liked it. In fact I won't be changing it anytime soon, but I know I'm going to want something different. The same old thing gets boring.
