Changing Tranny oil and need help...
I need to know if there is one nut that needs to be removed in order for me to drain the tranny fluid on a 97 3.0 CL and exactly where it's located ?? Thanks....

I just did that the other day. The drain plug is on the very bottom of the tranny and lays horizontally (not bolted from below, but sideways). It is different color (bronze?) and if it is the same as on my '99 3.0 you can use a 1/4 inch socket wrench extension to remove it.

the drain plug has a magnet that attracts all the small metal pieces. i clean that off each time. kinda looks like graphite.

to get the most out of ur tranny move the shifter back and fourth between gears while the drain plug is out. (this opens all the hydraulic valves ull get about 1/2 qt more out.) do not start the car.
i really suggest a tranny cooler

Also, before you do that, make sure to take out the top bolt. Would suck if you drained the fluid and couldn't take out the bolt...then you'd have to use the dipstick.
