Question CEL/MIL Code Interpretation Help (80 vs. 8)

I had a check engine light on so I pulled the codes using the paperclip method. What I got is 8 long flashes. No short flashes.
I looked up the code here

http://home.insightbb.com/~niedejb/refs2.html

and here

http://www.troublecodes.net/acura/30cl.shtml

and on both lists there is both a MIL code for 80 and one for 8.

80 = TDC sensor malfunction
8 = EGR insufficient flow

How would I know which one I got? How do you distinguish between 8 and 80?
(I know, I know - I can go to Autozone and blah, blah....)
Anyone know the answer to this one?

Ah, I just figured it out:

8 is the same as 08 = 0 long flashes, 8 short

So....it is just as I suspected and what you said - the stupid EGR. I will take the intake manifold off and drill the carbon out. I just hit 85K miles so it's out of warranty. That sucks.

Has anyone tried to get the warranty work done free within couple of thousand miles after the mileage limit has passed? I've heard of Acura, Lexus, and Infiniti services honoring such warranties even if the miles are a little over the limit.
