CEL on 2.3 - code 76 - help
Well my CEL came on again and this time I actually decided to see what it was bithcing about... so I do the ole' paper clip test and the code comes out 76...
I can't find a code listing for the 2.3 anywhere on here, and a code 76 on a 3.0 is "cylinder 6 misfire", which obviously doesn't help me.. does anyone have any input on this issue?? thanks

Are you sure of the code? Seven long flashes plus six short flashes would be a 76. If seven short, 4-5 sec pause, 6 short, then two codes, 7 and 6 are presented.
I checked 97 Acura 2.2CL and Mitchell on Demand did not have a code 76.
good luck

ok... i checked again and its really code 67 - guess i was temporarily dyslexic when i first pulled the code!!!
EDIT: the FAQ says
67.............P0420.............................. Catalyst system efficiency below threshold
is this the same for 2.3 and 3.0?

This is a tough one to fix. It could be simple such as an exhaust system leak allowing air into the exhaust, or could require catalytic converter replacement to fix. If you're not DiY, then professional help is indicated to sort out the problem.
Basically, the rear O2 sensor is indicating the catalytic converter is not performing up to requirements. The sensor sees too large swings in O2 content and after so many counts of O2 swings it sets the P0420 flag.
Note, P0420 does not cause any drivability problems, but you can't pass a state emissions inspection w/ the code set.
good luck
