Catalytic Converter

Car's been rattling a bit for the past couple days, just found out its a bad cat. Got a price of $300 for the part. This seem about right. Also, will a bad cat cut down on the car's fuel efficiency?

Good price for stock cat. Yes it will lower your mileage.

Has anyone tried a test pipe or highflow??? I'm pretty sure mine just crapped out on me and I dont want to spend a whole lot.

I hollowed mine out, didnt really notice much except the smell.
