I ripped my gold badging off because it was faded, just take some buffing compund and work on it with a rag. It would be very tedious to try to get that shit off however.

I have a chrome rear (A) emblem if you need it. It's in great cond. You just need new tape on the bottom. I put Honda symbols on.

when did the united states turn into Japan? we understand the fact that Acura is a sub company of Honda geared towards Americans as a performance/luxury car. So why would you remove the Acura badging and put on Honda badging when you live in the us?

JDM (Japanese Domestic Market)is all the craze out in so cal. every here want to get their car as close to jdm spec as possible. everything from light conversions, to little oem stickers that only jdm cars have. i've seen Mark's car. with the j-spec h22a and JDM accord power folding mirrors. he's getting pretty close to "true" JDM. it's for hard core Japanese Enthuisist. if you not one of them, it very hard to understand our passion.

yeah i'm planning to put the red honda emblem on my grill once i get it done. it's not going to be the cheap cheesy ones that you see around, it going to be the one off the integra type r

You post a very reasonable point. I do not understand your enthusiasm, perhaps due to my geographic location, but I also think it’s because I like the Acura sub company. Honda’s are by far the greatest, most reliable cars the average person can buy. I guess I like Acura’s because they are more luxury oriented (leather seats, navi, ect). I appreciate your civilized rebuttal to my post.

Actually I'm trying to get some of the looks of the type-R Accord that is sold in Europe. Since I bought the type-R Accord motor I've wanted to put the non U.S. styling to my CL. I have a bunch of JDM goodies to put on my car. Electronic folding mirrors, sidemarker lights, ect. I'll post some pics. as soon as I get this stuff on my car. I'm sure you guys will dig it. Going JDM isnt straying to far from the factory look anyways and thats the way I like it. Subtle but different. Kinda like what VXCL talks about.

i agree with lvmycl23 on this. Thank you for having a civil response even though my response was far from it lol. I wasn't trying to be mean i just don't understand why people would want to say "This car isn't an acura, its a honda in japan" when your acura CL has never been built as a honda car, anywhere. Its not a japanese car (correct me if i'm wrong) just because its a japanese company. CL is all american Acura baby! ...well you get the idea anyway lol

yeah but if compare the cars for japan and the ones in the us, the us version is strongly a watered down version of the original japanese model. honda/acura cars are first released in japan, if they do well, they get detuned and brought to the us. for example, the JDM Accord came with a h22a stock. when it gets the US, the give it a under powered f22b1. the JDM Civic comes with a B16b, the USDM version comes with a underpowered D16Y8. so trying to convert you car to Japanese standards is almost like making your car what it was "Originally" designed to be. not only to the performance factor, but also to the styling factor. it's almost like honoring what your car was suppose to be.

I understand the motive...my point i guess is that i want my car to be unique, not a signature of what it 'was supposed to be'. I want my car to be an outreach of my soul...figurativly. I want it to reflect me, not the japanese standards, even though those are unique to this continent...so to each his own

gold is doo doo!!

I'm glad to see that you are looking toward de-golding you trim. Definately chrome. I've seen the trim done in body color and I think that looks tight as well. But gold trim on the CL is a "no-no".

Also.... On the Honda emblem issue.
There is no JDM or Japanese version or counterpart for the CL. The CL is the first and only American designed and built car. Honda had nothing to do with the birth of the CL. Acura of America took the Accord. Stripped it down. Added stiffin's and luxury items and slapped an "A" on the ass and grill. Putting Honda emblems on this car is as ridiculous as that stupid "Nitro-Hybrid Civic" we laughed at last month.

Yes, it's Cypress Green.

LvMyCL23 and jorgev: Thanks. I know that most people don't care for the gold, but that's why mine's so very different!

Jamie: It's scary to even think that Honda shows the "Honda" badges in their parts schematic.

It's not that I'm in any way opposed to the Honda badges, it's just that the CL is not offered anywhere as a "Honda" model, so it confuses me as to why they "officially" offer the badging as such.

I'm not a fan of the "cookie cutter" CL look. It's great to see how each of us customizes our cars! I think that a large part of the reason I keep my CL is the ability to customize it the way I choose.

Yeah that emblem pic. trips me out too. You know theres actually some features that are deffinately "JDM like" on CL's. Take for instance the one piece headlights. How about the digital climate controls. These features came on JDM Hondas even before CL's were introduced.

JDM is fine as long as the car is actually SOLD in japan. Back when the import scene started, it was cool to make your car look like it actually came from Japan. But if your car (our CL) isn't sold in japan, it looks stupid trying to make it something it's not.

And I don't really like gold emblems, but I guess it depends on where you're from. Out here, usually you're either hella ghetto or you're new to the country and can't speak english - or you're a wanna be pimp sporting thick gold rimmed glasses to match. But it's not very classy or clean out here.

just my opinion
