I bought a 97 cl 3.0 and it's got some problems.


<Electrical Problems>
The previous owner had an amp and woofer in the trunk. He removed them (just by disconnecting them) before he sold the car to me. Do you think this could have caused these electrical problems?

1. The driver's seat moves back and forth, leans forward and backward, but it wouldn't go up and down. Is the motor dead or something? Should I go to the dealer and have them fixed or get get the motor somehow and install it myself.

2. The right rear brake lamp is not working. I changed the bulb but it still didn't work. The other brake lamps (rear left and middle) works fine. What should I check? The dealer said they had to checked the cables or something and it could cost a lot of money...

3. Even if there's almost no gas in the tank, the fuel lamp wouldn't turn on. I actually drove it untill it runs out of gas.... What could I do about this?

4. I bought a new remote and finished programming it. When I lock or open it, only the passenger's door works. No reaction from driver's side door. What the hell....


<Windshield question>
I tried to clean the inside of the rear windshield the other day. There were some little white scratches(something like that) on the windshield. When I rubbed them with cloth they it started peeling. I felt like something was coming off. I coudl actually see lil white shiny dirt stuff on the cloth. Is anything coming off from my windshield???


I have searched the board but couldn't find answers to my Q's.
Please help this newbie out.....

 

I would take it to a dealer and have it checked if your not comfortable with doing research to those problems. I would tho, check the battery and disconnect the power cable that goes from the battery to the trunk before it grounds out on something. The film on the rear window mite be the tape that holds the defroster lines on. I wouldn't peel it off. The fuel light mite of just went out. You mite need to replace it.

1. the motor is prolly bad.
2. check the ground for the light assembly, dude before u might have grounded the amp there, and left it disconnected.
3. the needle on my car goes below the red line before the light will come on.
4. eather the rod is bent or the unlock motor isnt hooked up. ive never heard of the motor being bad.
5. dude before u prolly blew his load on the windshield and now u got it on ur rag.

ur gas light bulb might be blown... replace it.
