What happens when winter comes!?! Am i going to be able to drive my car with my CAI in the snow and slush and all that?!?! Has anyone elce done that before? Am im gonna F* up my car is I try to drive in the winter time??

have no fear.,. if you keep your filter clean and oiled, you should hgave no problems with water.. I have had one for 3 years now and have had no problems with rain or snow... the oil acts as a barrier against water!

Or do like me and just get a bypass valve.

Definitely the bypass valve. Nothing better than cheap insurance.

if its a 2 piece, and your really worried about it... just take the extension off and place the filter inside the engine compartment instead of in the bumper.

That's exactly what I'm planning to do. I'll take the lower portion of the tube off, and move the Filter up to become a short ram.

The air will be plenty cool here in the winter.

Given normal driving conditions, about how often would you guys recommend cleaning & re-oiling the CAI cone filter? Same interval as w/ a normal air filter?
I've had mine on for just over 2 months & 3000 miles...

C.J. if you need help takeing the 2nd piece off I can help you. It is pretty easy and it still sounds pretty nice. Oh yeah, and the storm in Kansas City wasn't bad enough to worry about hydro loack. Just don't drive through a lake.

the bypass is a fuckin rip off. if u suck up water in ur cai then u shouldn't have been drivin period. i drive through massive rain storms in jersey and pa. even get blasted by the damn tractor trailers. u have to submerge the thing it works like a straw. aem made it to make more money. unless ur car is slammed on the ground there is no need for it.
