cable reel
ok so i took my car to get checked out for the horn, radio controls, and cruise control. i told the guy what was wrong and he said that it was the cable reel. i have never heard of this cable reel. he said he would charge me $50 for the labor. i told him i would get the part because he was going to buy it from an acura dealer and i know they charge an arm and a leg.
so has anyone heard of this cable reel, or had any experience with it? would it be worth the $50 he is going to charge or is it simple to install?

My radio controls started malfunctioning with the channel button changing the volume and the down volume button sometimes raising the volume instead, but the cruise controls and horn worked OK. My Acura dealer did a TSB to add "dimples to one of the contact plates in the steering column, which fixed the radio control problem at no charge. There is also a cable reel assembly which ties into the radio, horn and cruise controls, but I did not need that to fix my problem. Delray Acura has it listed as follows P/N77900-S84-A51 REEL ASSY., CABLE 2003 CL Discounted Price $156.52. It sounds like this is what you need and $50 labor to replace it is reasonable, especially if he lets you get the part (i.e. no markup).
