buying new subs...

i'm in the market for two new subs, and i'm thinking about getting either JL or Polk Momo 10"s. I've used Rockford Fosgate 12" HE2s in the past ($200 a pop) so i'm into the high quality stuff....opinions or suggestions greatly appreciated

I have JL long throws and love em. They're only 8" but kick-ass. I had Polks before, very good and smooth sound, just not enuf oomph to penetrate the thick rear seat.

I have a pair of JBL GTOs (350 watt RMS; 1000 watt peak power, each).

They definitely penetrate the rear seat!

Not too expensive, but quality sound!

I go to EBAY and check out which stores are selling them. I have purchased from IKESOUND in Miami, CMTTRADING in San Francisco and I see a few other stores that have some quality items. Comparison shop if you have the time, then get the best deal.

Polk Audio and Boston Acoustics make some of the best subs available... they sound amazing, very clean and loud... and from my experience, they work with any kind of music and still sound their best. The Polk Momo subs are more for show, but they do sound very nice... but personally I would get a Boston Pro over it.

That all depends on you. My one Diamond Audio 12" is more than enough for me. I enjoy clean, accurate, powerful bass - I don't care about shaking the car next to me. Unless you're a huge basshead, one 12 should be enough.

you need to ask yourself what you want
SQL
or
SPL
and then buy the speakers that do what you want them to do

check out my sig, that's what i recommend for SPL
they have a 22mm excursion that blows most subs away

yeah, i'm looking for clean tight bass, and SQL....i used to be into SPL but my ears started going bad...haha...dont worry, i'm planning on power them with about 800 watts...and i'm also thinking about a single 12" because i dont want a huge heavy box in my trunk to slow my race times down....thanks for all the input. i'll make my decision by tuesday on my day off
