Buying a CL

What's going on guys, first post here as I'm interested in buying a first gen CL. I looked over the noob guide and searched some threads about buying a CL and learned that the auto tranny's don't last long but the manual tranny's don't have that many problems. Right now, around my area, there are not many manual CL's but I would rather have an auto since this will be my DD and I will be driving to and from Austin (from Dallas ~220 miles). Just wanted to get some advice from you owners on which would be a good buy at the ones I'm currently looking at.

As you can see, they are all auto but one has a new tranny in it. Also, what would be a good ballpark price I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance

5g with a new tranny? only 5000 on the new tranny and only 126k on the body/engine. doesnt sound bad at all. 5g is around right for that car, id say maybe a little less. The only reason i suggest it is because it has a new tranny which is a big deal when it comes to the 3.0

If you're commuting does it really matter if its auto or manual? You'll be cruising on the highway for 200 some odd miles. Manuals get better gas mileage anyway. Anyway, if i had to choose i'd choose the 1 with the fresh tranny for 5k

Yeah honestly it does not matter if it's auto or manual, it's just that I have not seen any manuals for sale around here.

Before I bought my truck, I was looking at another CL to buy in the Dallas area. I came across a black 2.x 5 speed for $3,000 with only 105,000 miles on it. You should keep looking, or go with the one with a new tranny. But make sure they have a receipt to prove it.

Alright, will do, thanks. Is there somewhere else you guys would recommend for buying a car besides craigslist/autotrader?
