Busted Catalytic Converter (With Pics) Help?

If you go to my yahoo picture account you can view the pics of my busted catalytic converter. They are under the CL album.

Anybody with experience on this issue? I'm thinking about fixing it myself.

Also, I tryed to snap some pics of the my entire car from underneath...does anybody know what/where the A-pipe is and gaskets?

Any diagrams online of this stuff?

Acura believes I busted it by driving over a speed bump and then slaming down on it...honestly though - can't remember hitting it that hard to destroy it. When I hit it with something I can hear all the busted peices scattered about.

Thanks in advance fellas

(The catalytic is not the thing all scraped up, it's the silver peice behind it I believe...what is that thing that's all scraped up anyway?

The part that is scraped up is the downpipe from the exhaust manifold (or a shield that is covering the downpipe).

How do you know that your cat is "busted"? From the pic, it looks fine.

However, if you need a new cat, why not just bolt on a high flow cat? Probably much cheaper than a stock replacement.

Thanks Dustbuster for the answers

Acura told me it was broken after they jacked it up and plugged it into the computer. Also, you can hear the busted peices when you hit it.

I used a metal rod and hollowed out mine on my chevy z71, the cat was all broken up, the smaller pices were cloging my exhaust,
Took off the y pipe and started raming =)

I replaced my broken cat with a random technologies stainless steel high flow piece. Piece of cake to install. Just make sure you get all the peices of your old converter out of your exhaust while your at it.
