I just saw on ebay that some one was selling a amplifier from a 97 CL.
I didn't know that they came with one. Where is it and can you hook up a Sub or two directly to it?

I'm guessing it's just the built-in craptacular Bose amp. No, you can't hook a sub to it.

Yup, tore mine out and replaced it with an aftermarket amp as soon as I could!

sooo if i have an aftermarket amp pushing my subs...if i put in a new amp (and replace the bose amp in my trunk) will that make my speakers louder and better sounding?? what are the chances of blowing the speakers if i put in a different amp though...cuz i dont want to blow the speakers...

I have an aftermarket amp in place of my stock BOSE amp. Yes it will make your speakers sound much better. Just make you sure your amp has a crossover so you dont drive too much bass into your cabin speakers to avoid distortion at high volumes.

Distortion destroys speakers, not good clean power! I will replace the interior speakers eventually, but for now, they sound good.

The Bose system is junk. Chances are your speakers will be alot louder, as long as you get a higher powered amp. If you are replacing the amp for your stock speakers you would be better off rewiring the speakers. If you go with an aftermarket amp I would highly suggest replacing your stock speakers, as I said before they are junk.

Acura3.0CL: Speakers are DEFINITELY louder, but that's because I have Infinity Reference components and 6x9's.

The amp is Pyramid (1400 watt--4 channel). Not the best out there, but good enough for me. I have 2 12" JBL subs in the trunk.
