Bs?
I found this and figured it was crap but i figured i see what you guys said.Racing something... X.. i guess

In my opinion, it seems as though the resistor gimmick started to lose its touch in the BS Horsepower department, and so someone came up with this. Wow, pretty and looks professional, sure to get buyers. From my viewpoint this is 1% product 99% propaganda.
First off, it claims to make an "adjustment to the fuel curve" - this is exactly what the resistor gimmick does by modifying the IAT sensor's readings to the ECU.
And then secondly it claims that "when the engine compartment heats up, some sensors that relay pertinent fuel curve contingent information to the ECU begin to lose accuracy due to heat absorption into the sensor" however, "The Racing-X Performance Module is designed to automatically compensate for these signal errors," - this most likely means that the creator of this item built some circuitry or relay to disable the temperature sensor, and therefore the resistor-modified IAT remains unaffected.
The fact is that ECUs weren't made stupid. The problems that occurred with the resistor was that when the heat of the engine went up the effects of the resistor on the Fuel curve were no longer there. Well that makes obvious sense. The Intake Air Temperature is 30 degrees F and the underhood temperature is 140 degrees F, that's just too large of a difference.
So after all this writing, it's again BS as everyone else stated. Also, what's even more BS is that these sellers claim it doesn't hurt your vehicle in any way. By modifying just the Air Temperature readings most likely your car is running way too rich. Fuel, Oxygen, and Spark are all intertwined, therefore, detonation/knocking/pinging may occur.
This is just what I derived at after asking many questions doing research, and having experimented with the resistor gimmick. Also, the device only has four wires, two for the IAT and two for the Temp Sensor. But seriously the item does look alot better than a resistor and electric tape but still looks like a kindergarten project. The Materials cost no more than maybe $3. Everything can be purchased at RadioShack.
I know I don't have to say this but: Just be careful on what you buy, some things are just too good to be true, people do crazy things for money.

I was looking at the feedback for this item and they make the same product for many different cars. People who bought it said that it works and it made their cars snappier. I wonder if it's all in their heads or if anyone had real evidence from a dyno run.
then i guess it's the same as a rechipped ecu. . . . i would trust it though. . . . nothing like that is ever going to touch my car. i learned this the hard way: research what ever your going to put into your car, ask around, don't settle for second rate stuff, and if you can't afford it now save up. because the truth is, later on in the future your going to change it anyway. waste of money, waster of time.
