Brite Lites Headlight Restore - Before & After PICS
Ok,
So I bought my '97 CL in Ohio. They salt the roads. The headlights were dingy as all dickens due to oxidation. While browsing eBay, I came across this product (link below) and figured, $15, 100% money back guarantee, and he's got excellent feedback, I'll give it a try. For me, VERY worth the little bit of cash. Here are some pics. It beats shelling out some serious cash for new housings. Not as nice, but not as expensive. The oxidation is gone but they are still a bit hazy due to scratches, going to get a plastic and acrylic scratch/haze remover and refinish them. I'll let you know how that goes.
Anyway, just thought you might want to see. BTW - These are AFTER being pre-cleaned.

Here is a link to another eBay auction. Maybe there could be a group buy put together. Dunno? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
Oh, my buddy gave me is 9005 4300K HID kit which fits just perfectly in the 9006's! The pics of the actual lights were too blurry/hazy but this is what I get to look at now!![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

i have the same problem. used some plastic/vinyl clear, it clears up for a while and hazed up again in about a month. so just pay attention to yours in about a month and see if it goes back to it's old ways.
i've been planning to wet sand it but just haven't gotten the chance to. do a search, there are some detailed instructions on now to do it if you're interested
good job, btw

Creepy guy in the mirror.
I cant find the thread that had the detailed instructions, but it went something like this.
1.Wet Sand covers (600grit)
2. Wash
3. Wet Sand covers (1000grit)
4. Wash
5. Wet Sand covers (1500grit)
6. Wash
7. Rub covers (rubbing compound)
8. Wash
9. Polish covers (polishing compound)
10. Rest your arms - i did this by hand and it killed me. For those who have a professional polisher (not random orbit) this is much easier.
The covers look brand new when done - worth the effort
If i ever find the original thread - points for the original

The haziness is due to an acrylic coating that Acura puts on the lights. The haze and dinge comes from that coating chipping off. At least that is what I heard from my local Acura parts guy.

Up there in the middle of the thread this got a little hidden. Here is the link to the same product on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
He has pics of the bottles. The pretreatment smells like an isopropyl alcohol product. The oxidation remover is a blue cream that you rub into the light and let it dry then rub it off and the oxidation comes with it. Then there is the "shine restorer" which I guess helps to prevent against further deterioration of the lens, we'll see on that one. I was going to do the wet sand procedure but don't have time right now. Start to finish, this literally took 5-7 minutes for both headlights. Here's a cut and paste of part of the description in the auction:
THIS IS AN EASY 3 STEP PROCESS THAT APPLIES TO THE LENS EXTERIOR NO REMOVAL OF THE HEADLIGHT IS NEEDED STEP 1 WILL REMOVE THE DIRT AND OIL FROM EXTERIOR OF THE LENS. STEP REMOVES THE OXIDATION(YELLOWING CLOUDYNESS). STEP 3 MAKES A CHEMICAL BOND TO THE LENS EXTERIOR INSURING THAT THE LIGHT WILL NOT OXIDIZE AGAIN. AND THE BEST PART IS THIS ONLY TAKES ABOUT 5 MIN.
