Brand vs. Looks
anyone have velox vx-8 rims 18"s on a black car? i thinking of getting it, but i'm not too sure. i like the look, but many of my friends say that velox is not as reputable as some of the other companies. should i go for the look or brand? although racing harts and other rims are nice, it's very common. what are your opinions?

They honestly look alot better in the add!! the gunmetal isn't as dark in person. they are more of a gray finish. they also look very small. everyone says my 17's look like 16's. Just cause of the inward curving design. I actually just ordered konig imagines, in the opal finish. So mine are for sale! My advice to you is don't buy them if you want them to look big, they won't!!

I used to love the velox rims until i found out that the gunmetal finish was more gray colored. If you get rims for a black car make sure they are either anthrocite or hyperblack. I personally dont hink it makes a difference in brand as long as your not so serious about racing. good luck with your rims

hmmm.... didn't know that the gunmetal velox looked more grayish than black in color. i liked it because of the silver lip. thanks blo2ck, if you can post some pics. yea, i don't really care about the weight that much... more into the final product.

I got the 17" velox vx-8's on my car....do a search for them...i have my album posted somewhere. But yea....they do look rather small in the 17's.....i think the 18's would look tight. The gunmetal IS more gray....but i like the color, along with the silver lip. When they're clean....the lip sparkles and the rims look pretty TIGHT. When they're dirty....makes your car look dirty. All in all....i think they're decent quality rims...and if kept clean...look REALLY good. 18's would look SO much better than 17's. I made the mistake of gettin 17's....dang....i want 18's REAL bad.

Brand name matters. Wheel construction and such...how strong it is, weight, etc etc.
E.G.
Fiske's and HRE's are much much better than Konig or some other copy cat like that.
I was gonna get Tenzo's, then I realized, if I'm gonna get rims, its mostly for show...Can't show off cheap shit. If you're gonna do it at all, do it right and do it up.
