Anyone seen this before? I thought brake fluid was caustic enough to not allow growth. I put on my new calipers, pads, rotors, and lines, and while flushing the brake fluid, it was nasty. I poured the old brake fluid into a clear water bottle, and couldn't see through it when holding it up to the sun.....nasty stuff.

I've heard that it does absorb water, so it is smart to change it every couple of years. who knows yours could've been 10 years old

 

I need to change mine, did u take any pics of the fluid in the bottle? Calipers and lines look great, did you do oem or legend?

 

Sorry no pictures of the fluid, but....i still need to install the rears and I will when i get that out. I did OEM calipers, 50 bucks each at partsamerica.com so to keep the cost down went with those.

The ebay guy that has the SS brake lines accepted my best offer of $45, incase that helps someone else.
