Bose Converter

I went to best buy today to go buy a cd player, and I was gonna install it myself. They told me I needed to spend $70 on a bose converter because of my stock amp or buy new speakers. I was like ok I will have to get back to you. Do you really have to spend $70 or is there a way around this?

well, you're going to be best off replacing the speakers, cuz the bose ones are garbage.... that's what i would do.....they really don't use a bose converter, in fact i believe there's no such thing.....or if you want to keep the speakers, just bypass the bose amp behind the stock deck.....careful when you're putting it in, the console is a bitch.... but to answer, you could do it yourself if you honestly know what you're doing, best buys installers just aren't that great...(no offense to anyone out there, but you know its true).....if you don't feel confident doing it yourself, take it to a decent shop like al and ed's.....some place that will do the job right and use good quality wires....you don't want to end up with any power noise...

btw....i've been installing now for about 4 years, certified and everything......
